Dead Ultramarine by warp-zero Dead Ultramarine by warp-zero
Alright....the secret is out. I play Warhammer 40,000. Just when you probably thought my geek levels could not rise any higher huh?

Anyways, here's a piece of terrain I built. Its some jungle terrain with a pool of water in the middle. Laying in the pool is a dead Space Marine. I wanted it to look like he had died there a long time ago. What was his story? Why did he die alone? Who shot him? Who knows?

Well, whatever the story is, I'm sure the Eldar passing through don't care. If they had any thoughts on the matter, it would be thoughts of mild joy in knowing that there is one less Marine running around.

Oh, and yeah, the Saim-Hann Eldar Guardians in the pic are painted by me as well. Its my main army at the moment.

If the Marine died a long time ago this could be one of the Eldar Maiden worlds.

Edit: There is precedent for the Imperium trying to colonize those worlds. If they knew Eldar were on the planet the Astartes would be a natural choice to try and take it.

I don't give a shit that it's an Ultramarine. Their glory hogs. If it was someone like Black Templars or Dark Angels, I'd be upset.
Nice terrain btw.

Love it! Question though. Where did you get the skull for the space marine? I don't recognize it from any models i've seen. Of course i'm still a relative new comer to the Warhammer 40k universe myself, so it may just be my in-experience.
Go Space Marines and Necrons!

Very nice in every respect.
You use a blue or purple was on the Guardian armour? I like the effect and may use it myself.

Well judging by the humongous gaping holes in his armor, I think it's a safe bet to say he was a t the wrong end of alot of bolter fire...

I bet he was taking too long while taking a dump in that puddle and the rest of his squad became conviced he was a follower of nurgle and just executed him as a fire line xD

My brother won't be happy at seeing this - he collects Ultramarines and i'm an eldar collector xD
And warhammer is far from geekish, in my opinion.
Great modelling and painting skills anyway :)

Ooooh, awesome! I always wanted to get into WarHammer, but I never had the guts to just go ahead and do it. This terrain is excellent, man! The Ultramarine's paint job is seriously quality, with the dirt and scuffs. ^^ Not sure what else to say, but sweet!

Very nice! The battle damage looks great...ravaged but not over the top. I play warhammer too, but I do the fantasy game. (Thinking of 40K later on though.) Only thing I think could make this look even better would be to have darkened the bottom of the purity seal parchment. Make it look like the water soaked in. maybe even add a creeping plant starting to grow over him...depending on how long he's been there.
