Another Warhammer 40,000 sketch. This time, a Lost and the Damned trooper. Obviously a follower of Nurgle to those fellow geeks in the know.
So what happened was, I just finished doing the "Sisters of Battle" sketch and.... ....I was looking at it and finding myself thinking, "I can't just do that little thing and that's it. How lame." So okay, let me try another quick sketch again. My friend Eric does this 90 minute drawings that are just awesome. [link] I wondered...can I work under such a limitation? Eric is a machine and has been working his art muscles for quite some time. Me? I'm still rather flabby. But here is me being inspired by Eric and giving it a shot. I think it came out to about....1hr.45min (so I went over a bit). I didn't use a stop watch, I just glanced at the clock on my computer. Also, its worth noting that the "Sister of Battle" and this piece are the first two drawings to be done completely on my tablet. No actually drawing on real paper and then scanning it in. I just went to it using my Cintiq. So with the time ticking and me just plain not caring anymore how "polished" anything I put up here is....I just started slapping lines down and having fun. Still, it took longer than expected as I ran into times where I was looking at the toolsets for how to do a certain thing....or how to re-open a window I accidently closed. I think I'll be faster once I relearn everything again. Its been a while. Anyways, hope you like it....despite the sloppy feel. |

I like how the whole bleakyness of the picture contrasts with the deep shadow under the hood and the glowing eyes of the guardsman, gives great depth to the picture. Superb geometry of the armor
